Please review the following update regarding Anti Social Behaviour which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.
 

Your local officers have been busy over the past week patrolling the Ward either visible on foot or covertly in plain clothes in an effort to stem anti-social behaviour. We have had reports of high powered electric bikes in Danson Park causing a nuisance so we have been concentrating efforts in and around the park. With the good weather the Parks become more attractive to these perpetrators so we will continue to patrol and deal with these individuals in a proportionate and robust manner so our residents can enjoy the parks.

Antisocial behaviour can come in many forms and can require support from more organisations than just the police. There are 13 different types of antisocial behaviour that we may be able to help with, including abandoned vehicles, littering or drugs paraphernalia and street drinking. A full list of what we categorise as antisocial behaviour is available on our website.

As the nights get shorter and days get longer your officers will continue their good work in the battle against ASB. We have had recent success with seizures of illegal modified e-bikes which has also led to arrests for immigration offences. They are also tackling drug use and dealing with successful stop and searches where justified and building warrants from intelligence gathered. Some of this intelligence comes directly from our residents and is vital in assisting us with our investigations. We will endeavour to serve our residents as best we can.

Local Priorities Drug dealing/ drug use Message - MetEngage BLENDON & PENHILL

I wanted to provide an update regarding drug dealing / drug use, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

 

In the early hours of 21/03/2026 the teams from Blendon & Penhill and Falconwood & Welling while on night patrol made a stop on a male, this resulted in the male being arrested for the following:
- Possession With Intent To Supply Class A drugs
- Possession of Class C drug Nitrous Oxide
- Possession of an offensive weapon.

We are committed to tackling drug dealing wherever we find it. We will keep you updated on our efforts to do this in your area, but if you have any concerns or evidence, it is important you report this as soon as possible.

🚨 URGENT APPEAL: Burglary Near Danson Park - DA16 2AD - Did Your CCTV See Anything?

We are sharing this urgent community appeal following a devastating burglary that took place last Saturday, October 25, 2025, around 7:30 pm, near Danson Park in the Roseacre Road (DA16 2AD) area.

A local resident, who has lived safely in the area for eight years, returned home to find their worst nightmare realised. Two masked individuals gained entry to their home from the back garden by breaking the rear door. They stole a significant amount of jewellery and watches. The occupants were not home at the time, and it is suspected that the thieves may have been monitoring their movements.

The homeowners are understandably devastated by this intrusion and loss. We are reaching out to the local community for help to bring these criminals to justice.

If you live in or around the Roseacre Road/Danson Park (DA16 2AD) area, please, if you have any type of external security camera (CCTV, doorbell camera, dashcam) that records footage, would you urgently check it for the following time and date:

• Date: Last Saturday, October 25, 2025

• Time: Between 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm (The burglary was reported around 7:30 pm, but footage from before and after could be crucial).

The homeowners have some grainy neighbour footage, but a clearer or wider view could make all the difference. We are looking for anything that shows:

• Two masked individuals on foot or in a vehicle.

• Any suspicious people or vehicles loitering in the street or surrounding roads.

Sad News for Welling Shoppers: Iceland Store to Close

Iceland Welling DA16 3PB in store flyer

Shoppers in Welling will be disappointed to learn that the local Iceland store is set to permanently close its doors. A flyer posted in the store window confirms the closure, stating that the last day of trading will be Saturday, 1st February, with the store closing at 4 pm.

The red and white poster, a familiar sight in Iceland store windows, simply states "SORRY WE'RE CLOSING" followed by the details of the Welling store's permanent closure. The announcement will undoubtedly be a blow to local residents who rely on the store for their frozen food and grocery needs.

While no official reason has been given for the closure, the notice marks the end of an era for the Welling Iceland. Customers are advised to make alternative arrangements for their shopping needs after the closure date.

Stolen BMW 330e: Urgent Appeal

Stolen BMW from The Green, Welling

A BMW 330e with the registration LP66DXX was stolen from our driveway on The Green, Welling at 2:26 AM on September 7th. The theft was captured on our Ring doorbell footage. The perpetrator used a device to intercept and clone the signal from a key fob inside our house, allowing them to open the car and drive away.

We have already reported the incident to the police (reference number 01/812538/24).

We urge residents in the Welling area, particularly those living near The Green, to review any CCTV or surveillance footage they may have. If you have seen this car or have any information regarding its whereabouts, please contact us directly or report it to the police.

Appeal for Stolen White Mercedes Car from Falconwood & Welling

A White Mercedes-benz car was stolen from a driveway on Yorkland Avenue DA16 2LN on Thursday 26th October at 3:17am. The car is a white Mercedes Model GLE with the registration number DEZ1009, year 2018.

The owner is requesting all residents in the area to check their CCTV footage or any other surveillance devices that they may have installed, especially if you live in the vicinity of Yorkland Avenue, Welling. Any information, no matter how small, could be vital in recovering the stolen car.

Cash machine scam

A local resident used the cash machine outside the Tesco express in welling on Thursday (25th Nov 2021) and the card got stuck in the machine. By the time the resident got home to report it about 45 minutes scammers had got the card out and got to Bexleyheath and withdrew £2400 from 3 machines.

So if your card jams in a machine don’t leave that spot call your bank from there and stop your card.

On ATM withdrawals you can set limits for Barclays but not for self service. You can also set a spend limit on card via the bank app and can stop card straight away through the app as well.

Bikes stolen in Welling - appeal for information

NHW Coordinator Radnor Avenue has reported the above bikes being stolen from Radnor Avenue Welling from his WhatsApp group that there have been two instances of bikes being stolen from residents' back gardens recently.

The first two were taken from the residents' back garden overlooking Danson Park on the night of the 18th September and the second two were taken from another property on the night of the 3rd October. One of those stolen on the 3rd was a replacement bike for the resident's son who had that stolen from Crook log only three weeks ago.

I have attached some images of the bikes. Only one image for one of the bikes stolen on the 17th Sept and two images for the bikes stolen on the 3rd October.

Appeal following suspected arson attack in Welling

Police appeal for information and witnesses following suspected arson attack in Welling

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a suspected arson attack in Welling.

Police were called by the London Fire Brigade at approximately 23:06hrs on Wednesday, 14 July to a fire on South Gipsy Road, Welling.

Officers and the London Fire Brigade (LFB) attended and the fire was extinguished at approximately 00:30hrs.

The cause of the fire is being treated as arson.

There were no injuries. No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.

Detective Sergeant Danny Banks, from the Serious and Complex Investigations Unit, said: “My team of officers have been working around the clock to establish the circumstances of this incident. I thank everyone who has already come forward to police to assist with the investigation. We are following up all lines of enquiry and all allegations made to us. 

“Police remain in regular contact with the family and they are being kept up to date as to the progress of the investigation. My heartfelt sympathies go out to them during what has been an unimaginably difficult time. I thank them for their continued support as enquiries are ongoing.

“This incident has been well publicised and whilst we appreciate that the public wish to support the family, we ask that all information is provided to us directly. I also urge the public to refrain from undertaking their own investigations in relation to this case.”
